The Air Jordan 6 was released in 1991 and retailed for $125. Tinker Hatfield Designed the shoe which is no surprise due to how well his previous 3 designs caught the publics eye. No specific inspiration for the VI has ever been stated by Tinker, but it does feature a heel tab inspired by the rear spoiler of a sports car. This was the first of many references to automobiles in the Air Jordan line. Michael Jordan also won his first championship in 1991 which is why some might consider the Jordan 6 to be “lucky”.
